1   Our Products / EBooksWriter / Re: Frame sets and links  on: May 16th, 2017, 11:06am
Started by peter w | Last post by Support Staff
Each page can be both a frame, and a host for frame sets.

If you have created frames inside a page (you can do this by creating new frames with drag and drop; and you can reuse existing pages-frames with the Format >Advanced frameset manager feature), you can always see what is the main frame (the host) by unreleasing the frame/noframe button that is besides the page number box.

Now, to distinguish between various pages/frames, please assign them a name. The names you see right now are the automatic names (given by the software if you don't assign names).
To assign a page name/title you can use several different dialogs.
One is the Format >Page properties for the current page (the page title is on the bottom left). If the page hosts frames you assign the name of the main frame (the host).
Also in the Hypertext > Images - files - link archive and erase... you see in the first tab all pages and you can rename them with a slow double click.

depending on how old your edition is we will calculate the price (if your purchase is recent it is not much more than the difference from the respective gold/pro prices)

 3   Our Products / EasyWebEditor / 1site / New EasyWebEditor forum  on: Sep 21st, 2016, 7:33am

most of the information in this User's forum are still valid, however it is useful to mention that this forum has been almost completely replaced by the forum on www.easywebeditor.com and the direct web address is
http://www.easywebeditor.com/cgi-bin/forum/YaBB.pl?board=EWw

so it is better to go there and to search there for questions about EasyWebEditor (and its more powerful friend 1Site), by using the search box and entering a few words of your question, you will find your answer at 99%.... if not please post in a similar topic ("on topic") or if nothing resembles, open a new one...

 4   General / News / Paperinik.com forum / server moved  on: Sep 21st, 2016, 7:28am
Started by Support Staff | Last post by Support Staff
Actually it is a long time we don't post news here, products have been improved in a constant and silent way, and they are near to perfection.

Today we moved the server that hosts paperink.com and this forum (historically our first forum, then we hosted a copy on easywebeditor.com) and this post is to test that everything works properly.

There would be a lot to be written, ok let us write just one thing: now if you use EasyWebEditor, 1Site and HyperPublish you are also welcome to host your website with us, with the new http://www.visionhost.info VisionHost service.

Just following on from this thread, I have just received the trial version to see if this product works for us. I also need to produce a catalogue, and basket creation facility on a cd.
I wanted to look at the sample csv file to see how it works but cannot find it on the cd... I initially jumped ahead to look at importing csv files, can you help here?

8   Our Products / HyperPublish / Re: program create csv product catalog to web  on: Aug 14th, 2014, 9:08am

No when you use CSV import, it works another way, the CSV file must point to existing files (e.g. PDFs to be placed into the same folder of the CSV), and Hyperpublish automatically inserts them in its internal album (when creating the rest of the stuff). The CSV may contain thousands of products so it would not make sense to force you to manually insert pdf files into the album.
Alternatively, $$data may be a URL (eventually within " " )

9   Our Products / EBooksWriter / Re: Creation distribution selling ecommerce affili  on: Jul 17th, 2014, 5:04pm

please read above....
Basically, you can do whatever you want, there are no constraints.

Some ways for the EXE ebooks:
ONE
a) you create a web site and you talk about your ebook
b) you subscribe to a payment service (e.g. SWREG or others)
c) you configure the payment service (usually they have a control panel or so) and you put on your website the buttons (shopping cart or other links) to permit to the end user to go to a form where he inserts his name and credit card and so on
d) you configure the payment service in order that, after purchase, the ebook is sent by email, or a email with a private download link is sent (some payment service may automatically generate a special download link such as a one-time download link or anyway a download limited for N downloads and then it expires)
d1) some ecommerce may just offer you the chance to show a given page of your website after the purchase; this page may contain the download link or other instructions

TWO
e) you create a sample ebook with just some pages and you distribute it with a website or with external download sites (such as www.ebookslibrary.com), as demo
f) within the ebook, at the start or at the end or wherever, you place the purchase link, linked to the ecommerce service (as for b,c,d); or to a "purchase page" on your web site

THREE
g) as above, but you send the ebook or the download link by yourself

FOUR
h) as above but you configure the ecommerce to also call a script on your server that generates the custom password(s) basing on the user data and the author password(s) / seed(s)

etc. etc. etc.

10   Our Products / EBooksWriter / Re: recover ebookswriter password ERP EWP  on: Jul 17th, 2014, 4:49pm
Started by georg | Last post by Support Staff
The software, on the customer/reader side, do memorize the password as .erp file (after the first succesful type, after the first time the customer enters the correct pass); if, before creating the ebook, in the Reader/Show options (last tab of the Hypertext / Current hypertext properties) you check the box "don't store pass", then the pass won't be saved in the .erp and will be asked each time the end user reads the ebook (this could be annoying - use only if you really need so).

The .erp file is related to the related ebook, if you install 2 or 3 ebooks, they are installed in the same place, there will be 2 or 3 erp files (if the software is allowed to save passwords; and if the software is allowed to install - "delete on exit" not checked)

The encrypted pages of a ebook can not be opened with the wrong password (as the password is used to decrypt - there is not just a check of the validity of the password, the password MUST be correct).
