you need to save them as .swf files. Then use Insert >Flash
Or save to .wmv video.

so the embedded flashplayer in cdfrontend will play swf files as well as flash files , independant of the end user pc's available software?

SWF files *are* flash files (the ones used to deploy your works). Flash source files aren't usually distributed.
If Flash is not installed, in place of the Flash box CDFE shows a clickable sentence "click here to install Flash" (it is professional to always ask before installing something on the end user computer). This will of course work also on computers that do not have Flash and are not connected.

Hi:
I'm trying to embed videos (FLV or SWF, either one) to run automatically when the link is selected.
The version I have of CD FontEnd (my bill says CD Front End Pro, purchased about a month ago) does not allow me to "Insert/Flash". I have "Insert/Animation / Video / Sound". When I try to add the video file that way, the player that ends up on my page gives me this error: ".281. Cannot determine the device type from the given filename extension"
