Hi
I am a newbie just putting together my first e-book.
I have been cutting and pasting text from another file.
This book has been a printed guide.
I keep getting the text and pictures in different places on the page from where I want them to be and layering on top of each other?

is there anything obvious I am doing wrong.

Thanks

Ken

...to position text and images you must use invisible tables.
There is an entire chapter about this on the PDF manual "Graphics and paging pages".

There are many tricks you can use. An interesting example at:
www.visualvision.com/download/example_ryan.zip

To put a text over an image you need to edit the image within a paint / graphic program (such as Paint Shop PRO). In case you already have a graphic program installed, right click (click with the right side mouse button) an image, and choose "Edit", this will run the graphic program with your image, modify the image (add text over it or so), save it, close the graphic program, and the modified image will appear in ebookswriter.
