Hello Everyone,
Please help! My problem is simply this i need to change a few thing in the shopping cart now i know a bit about html coding but i cant seem to get the original for the built in shopping cart to edit it! can you help for example i need to remove the IC Code imput field on the cart, And the second thing is, is there a way of making the shopping cart close down without loosing the data ( i know how to ) but the problem is when it goes to our customers they may not, last Q. can i add a vat (17.5%) figure to the cart as my boss is being  pain and he wants it like this and like that and im getting pretty angry as he dont understand the problems i incounter,

I must say HP is brilliant and once you have read the manual and played about a bit its relativly straight forward and i like it, just a few things which may make life easier for a more inexperienced person.

Thankyou
STephen

For the Web part, the shopping cart is provided through a Javascript.

You can edit it with "Hypertext >Current hypertext options", then click the "Cart" tab.

To change this is almost the only "complicated" part in HyperPublish. Javascript is a powerful language and you can do almost everything... there are hundreds of books about Javascript - unfortunately we can't do this work for you, this would be programming consulting, we are not staffed for this task (and it would be expensive, such as $100/hour, in any case).

Some host do provide a Shopping Cart script on the server, that can be configurable, and maybe it is more suitable for your task.... take a look to your host "Control Panel". Usually they give you some "codes" to insert into your pages in order to add an "add to cart" button, or so. You can insert these codes in HyperPublish with "Insert >HTML >Within text".

Sorry if we can't help more......

I have had a quick trial of my website created with hyper publish.  Internet Explorer seems to have problems with the shopping cart.  It brings up a pop up warning but will not load  the cart even if i click to allow it.Anything I am doing wrong?

IE does this in the browser preview as far as I know. The cart is a harmful script (sigh). The security "the Microsoft way" is to block everything (sigh - it was too difficult for them to verify that the script does not write to your hard disk, so it can't be harmful... this would have required intelligence...    ).

Anyway, within the web site however the cart usually works without problems (this seems a nonsense, why not in the private preview, and yes in the public website? but this is our experience... please don't ask us why it does this way...). Have you tried?

While we are here, make sure you are not using strange chars within the product descriptions ( ' " are not allowed) and to use only alphabetic lowercase for the identifiers.

And, also, before you start to using the internal cart everywhere, be warned that most common commercial solution used to accept credit cards (e.g. PayPal and other) have their own shopping cart; they provide you "codes" that you can add with Insert >HTML >Within the text, so you use these things and not the internal cart. Incidentally this is what we do for our ecommerce, managed with the Kagi and/or SwReg cart.

How do I add more than 1 item to the shopping cart. When I "add to cart" it adds to cart but how do I go back, look through the catalogue and add more items.

Can anybody help!!!
 ???

the cart window must not be closed. If it is too large and it covers too much the pages, please just resize it.
When you close the cart dialog, this empties the cart
