Title: A Runtime Error has occurred
Post by Bruce Misfeldt on May 17th, 2005, 1:13pm
When I click on certain links in the compiled HTML help I get the message
'A Runtime Error has occurred.
Do you wish to debug?
Line: 16
Error: Access is Denied.

The properties of the link are
General: javascriptlperF_open('bptdoc-000025.htm','B_SCHED_LOG','height=300, width=400

Protocol: Unknown Protocol
Type:      Not available
Address: javascriptlperF_open('bptdoc-000025.htm','B_SCHED_LOG','height=300, width=400

What is happening, and how do I avoid this error so that the pop-up window is displayed?

I found the answer on page 64, 'Generic Questions',  of the Paperkiller User's Manual:
'Edit the page in PaperKiller and insert a special link to a pop-up, even a hidden link,e.g. a white comma on a white background.'

Yes, this problem can occour if you are using frames.
In this case, the "master" frame (the one you see when the frame/noframe button is released; the frame/noframe button is the one near the page number box on the bottom) should contain at least one link to popup, even a "fake" link as explained by Bruce is fine.
This link "fools" an internal optimization that Internet Explorer (and so the CHM) does not like.
