I've been searching for a ebook program that will allow me to publish ebooks for both the portable (PDA) and desktop markets. Microsoft has eReader and then there is the good old standby PDF format. My primary goal is to write reference ebooks for the portable market, which uses both LIT and PDF standards. Will this program allow me to do both and well? In addition to file type formats, I also plan on using hyperlinks within the pages for cross referencing. Hyperlinks from the tbale contents is a requirement as well. Thanks for everyones help and suggestions, Jeff

You can "print" to PDF if Acrobat Distiller is installed (or with the free Ghostscript, see the Frequent Question on the Website or F1) and you can have a .LIT if you export to RTF then use a free utility for MSWord (you will find it with Google, MSWord to LIT). At present PDF and LIT formats don't offer reliable password protection (LIT can offer this if you use the MS solution for selling, but this links you to Microsoft and usually our users don't want to) so we stick on our format with 128bit encryption; of course we plan to add further export filters in future. > In addition to file type formats, I also plan on using hyperlinks > within the pages for cross referencing. Hyperlinks from the table > contents is a requirement as well. this is available, you can place any number of links with ease, and there is an automatic function to insert a "linked" table of contents (Insert >Contents).
