Hello... I am considering purchasing Ebookswriter and have some technical questions. I was wondering if there are any Ebookswriter users that are very advanced or familiar with technical features of the software that might be willing to talk and answer some use questions . Am requesting this since V V has "no" phone policy for discussing use, options or technical considerations for ebookwriter prior to or after sale. We want to make sure that software can do things we would expect it to do

Just FYI we reply to all email questions and we are very fast. You can see all the basic features on the www.ebookswriter.com website and you can also download the PDF manual online. For any precise question please use the search feature of the forum (on the top) and feel free to contact us directly at ebookswriter@visualvision.com or with the contact form www.ebookswriter.com/contact/ We do not use the phone because the email is more versatile: you can attach images and examples. Also, you don't listen horrible music while waiting for our reply.......

Probably I will be a new buyer, too. I am trying to create an ebook using my own dot com name to promote my book. I would like my ebook site to 1.have a good looking cover page. 2.lead to a page that has paypal on it. 3.let them then look at or download the book. 4. I want it to sell books even when Im sleeping or my computer is off. If I need more software to accomplish these goals please tell me. I like what I have heard so far. I just need to know these extra things so I know what to prepare for in my project.

Concisely, EbooksWriter covers these phases: - creation (you write text, insert images, video, popup dialogs etc) - protection (you insert password/s, if you'd like) - "packing" (everything is packed as a single "exe" file, that the end user will just "double click" in order to view the ebook) By the way we sell a powerful software for creating web sites, "1site" ( www.1site.info ): should you want it, there is a discounted bundle "EBooksWrter + 1site" available at www.ebookswriter.com/buy/ If you own EBW + 1site (or another Web software) then you need also: - a web space (this usually involves a monthly fee or yearly fee) - a ecommerce service with ESD (electronic software delivery), e.g. it can deliver the ebook automatically after the purchase; There are services that you can set up that can take payments and then automatically deliver the ebook file (or a email containing a link where to download the file). On the forum I am sure there is a mention of some ecommerce service, or you may ask to others. A PayPal business account can take credit card payments and I believe it can show after the payment a web page where you may put a download link (e.g. click here to download the file, it is very simple to do this with 1site). We use SWREG for the ecommerce and it can deliver files, but it requires a bit of patience to set up (it is very powerful), you can find a lot of ecommerce services - they usually do also a "fraud shielding" service by rejecting "bad" credit cards and so on.

Okay, as an 85 year old programmer who's been at it a loooong time, hear this! You can spend a lot of time and money going from one authoring program to another. That includes Microsoft Office, Open Office, etc. Your biggest challenge is to make a choice and then sweat through it...they all take that sweat and it's no excuse for giving up and trying a different software (unless you're rich)! I am nosey and can't resist any new and wildly proclaimed software. For years, I have always returned to VV's stuff. It's all-in-one and does everything or has a way to allow everything. Your biggest effort in using a new piece of software is in learning a new set of rules and procedures. Use VV's online manual with the PDF manual and then do the same thing you must do with any software...experiment to find a way to do what you want, if necessary. I guarntee you, you'll find a way in Aldo's stuff, and it'll be stable. And finally, they DO answer your emails quickly...no matter how stupid I might word the problem. Take it from your ersatz Grandpa...go for the Gold.
