File error on uploading

Most impressed by EWE until this morning.  Here is the proplem:

The last alteration to the hypertext file that I am developing was to add global footers and to remove the footer from the menu page which I use in a left hand frame.

The problem that I now have is in uploading the site.  On clicking the publish icon the error that I get is: “Access violation at address 0050C441 in module ‘IPER3std_e.exe’. Read of address 00000004.”

I also notice that on initially running EWE the edit page is blank and the hypertext is only in view when I click on the page number field at the bottom of the  editing window (the page number is shown as 0) and then hit <Return>.

Any ideas?

It looks as the file you are using is damaged.

The program does create an automatic backup copy of the work file, and calls it ".BAT".

E.g. if your site is mickey.aeh, the backup is mickey.bak.
Just search mickey.bak with the MSWindows Explorer, then rename it (slow double click) to mickey_old.aeh

Then open this file and all should be fine.

I found that the Backup file was corrupted too.  MY las full backup was a week ago so I had to do the whole lot again.

These days I do a 'Save As..." and add a serial number to the file name.  I can then track back to the last uncorrupted version.
