I had boght the Easy Web Editor a few days ago with the 3D buttons extra (which I still didn't get the KEY for the 3D buttons) the other day. I am all new to this and I'm pretty sure it's me having the problem understanding some things. I not able get a page published. I'll run the publish program and I believe it conects to server but the contents (public_html File or anything else) don't show up then it times out after the set time of sixty sec. or 90 sec. wich ever I set it to. then says conection closed. This is what I have set up: Server FTP: host###ipowerweb.com time out: 90 Port: #### Initial Remote Directory: /public_html User Identifier: my user name Password: ###### (WWW PATH): mywebsite.net/ (this entry is optional). I got these parameters from the sever. All pubishing ops. I left at default. What am I doing wrong here? I been going over and over the manual and tutorials but no help. I guess it woud be verry easy for some who has been doing it for a while and has used other programs or manule means of publishing. So you think there is a chance of you guys helping me out? Thanking you in advance.

Don't know. We can't do a test for you without your full parameters. Please email support with your full parameters and we will do a test for you. If the data are correct (check also the CAseS, they are CAsE senSiTIvE!!), usually the problem is on your host (sometimes it happens that they incorrectly reset the password for an account). Weird but it happens.

Thats OK I have found what I was doing wrong.... A missundurstanding. . . .I had change the port back to the default 21 rather than the port# the sever had sent me and changed the FTP server to ftp. mysight .net instead of the http the server had gave me, thou I think either http works, the port was the real issue. . . . Thanks anyway for your response. . . I'll probably be back soon enough with other questions...

As the common FTP problems are just 3-4, a quick resume: Error 500 wrong or incorrectly typed ftp server name (= host, server, ftpserver) or firewall or antivirus or antispyware software misconfigured or problems with the Internet connection Error 530 wrong username (=user, identifier, userid, login) and/or password - or maybe the host did reset them Error 550 or Access Denied it is likely the "Initial remote directory" is wrong usually the initial remote directory should be set as the "web" folder, that is the folder that will be shown on the web. typical values are: / or /www /web /public_html /htdocs /var/www/html /yourusername When no errors but the site doesn't show correctly, it is likely the "Initial remote directory" is wrong, or there are problems with pre-existing content. Maybe you should delete the pre-existing index.html (with DEL key on the right list, or right click). Please email to the Support Staff if you experience difficulties! Be sure you have your full parameters (ask your host! they are secret, we don't know them!!!!)
