PDF document link

Can anyone tell me how to include a PDF doc and have it open as a separate window. Right now, I have the link to the file, but it replaces the window and one must click the browser "back" button to return to our website. I want site visitors to be able to click on the PDF doc link and print the the document, then close the window.

Select a text block
Use Insert >Special link
then second tab
then "in a new browser window" (on the right)

When we published the site yesterday (and to immediately remove it due to problems), when I clicked on the link for the PDF version of our order form, I received a 404 URL error message. The link for the PDF doc is one to an included file. What am I doing wrong here?
Today is it. Either I get the site working and published, or the project is scrapped.

There are 3 possible problems:

1)incorrect publishing (this may be due to server overload during the first publishing - if this persists, please find a less cheap web host!); try to repeat the publishing. You should manually verify that the checkbox besides the PDF file (on the left side of the FTP dialog) is checked: if not, check it. This will force EasyWebEditor to repeat the publishing

2)wrong name for the PDF file. The file name must NOT include spaces, strange symbols such as # £ $ etc.

3)wrong prefix (see Hypertext >Current hypertext properties), the prefix must NOT include strange symbols.

There are no possible failures due to the program itself. Unfortunately, any mistake is always human.

Another possible way to link PDF files (to be preferred for large files) is to upload the files separately (maybe within a special folder on the server) such as they will be available (say) as http://www.yourserver.com/nicefolder/file1.pdf
You can do this upload with the internal "Generic FTP" feature (available under the "Publish" menu).
Then you select a text block within EasyWebEditor, you use INsert >Link, click the 3rd tab, press the Add+ button, then you type
http://www.yourserver.com/nicefolder/file1.pdf (or whatever) and press OK.

This way you will keep separated the PDF file(s) and your website AEH file.
