Notes always visible

Hi,

There's a project going on (in my mind for now) and i would like to make the page so that it may have the foot notes permanently visible just like this webpage:
 www.geocities.com/Athens/9632/FrenchSchool.html

Problem is, i have two parts to my book so i would have to also set up a column on the left but the footnotes would be separate for both.

Any help is welcome!

Thank you!

This website just uses frames and anchors; you should do the same within EasyWebEditor or 1Site.

In other words you create (say) 2 frames, one A for the text, one B for the notes (see the Chapter about Frames in the PDF manual...; each frame is also a page present somewhere in the hypertext/work file).

Within the B page, at the start of each note, you place an Anchor (Insert >Anchor).

Then you go to page A, and within the text you insert the link to the notes, e.g. [1].

You select the text [1], Insert >Special link, you use the link tab that defines that the link will be to the second frame, then the program will ask you to choose the destination page for the link (the page to be shown in the B frame).
You will always select the page B and, within the same dialog, you select the proper anchor (before clicking OK, you click the anchor... or you may alternatively enter the number of the anchor on the bottom of this dialog).

That's all... you repeat this for all the anchors.
There are some other nothes about anchors in the FAQ www.easywebeditor.com/faq/

I've divided my page into 4 frames but when i click on a link it opens the relative frame into a new window instead of same page.

make sure you're applying the ie7 workaround (see the forum www.easywebeditor.com/forum/ ) if you're using ie7. Unless you have a very new EWE edition with the workaround embedded.
