quick link troubles

I'll be honest- I am really new at this so this is probably covered somewhere else - but I need some help.

I am creating a book on CD Rom and to navitegate through the book I set up quick links to that look like this  <Back>  <Next>  <Table of Contents>

The links work perfect in edit mode but as soon as I go into preview mode and text them - either the screen blanks or it just display half the page I'm on or some other werid page.

Is this normal? How do I fix it?

HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!

The "quick link" feature places a link that replaces the current frame.

If you are in edit mode, in edit mode all links do replace the whole page (this is to speed up the editing and to avoid frame mixing in edit mode).

In preview mode, or on the browser, the quick link works the right way (the way it is created, not necessarily the "right" one for you ) and it replaces the current frame.

If you need a different behavior, just edit the link properties (right click on the link with the mouse, then click the "link properties" item of the menu).

This should help you to correct non desidered behaviors..........

I've been working at it and I now have page  links to move forward.

But when I highlight the word go to Insert >Link>1st tab The page I want to link to is not in the listing- if I try to do a search by page number- it can't seem to find it.

This list includes all pages. Use the scroll bar to see everything.
The preview on the right side is "live", you can browse it in order to find a page.

Also, if you recall a word of the page title (i.e. you don't remember the page title, but you know there is the word "apple" somewhere in the title) then use the search box on the top left, write "apple", press ENTER or the search icon, and it will find the first page with "apple" within the title.... click again the icon to see the next page with "apple" (if any)...

Thank you very, very much!
I have all but 4 pages to fix. YEAH!!!!

These pages have frames in them. When the link is activated it sends you to a page with just the one frame by it's self in it, instead of the whole page- is there an easy way to fix that?

The link dialog shows a preview where (normally) it shows only the MASTER FRAME of each page.

This is to avoid confusion, because if a page hosts frames, the frames actually are stored within other pages (the page itself stores the master frames + the layout of the frames).

There is a checkbox on the top right "show frames", if enabled when you click on a page, it shows the full frame layout hosted by the page. If you unselect this button it shows just the page itself (= master frame).

To better understand the frame management there is a full Chapter in the PDF manual. It is difficult to explain frames with words, but the concept is simple.

Please see the manuals that features examples with images - if you re-create step by step the examples you will realize very fast how things work
