Title: Re: Newbie help:) Post by Trikk on Dec 9th, 2002, 5:04pm I've seen there's a limit of about 2MB if you include the files in the main file (using Insert >Link and the 4th tab), but if you use external files in say d:\myfolder2 (linked with Insert >Link, 3rd tab run:\myfolder2\thefile.mp3 or was it run:myfolder2\thefile.mp3 ?? try both!) you can avoid this limit (the file is external so it is not counted) :-) |

Title: Re: Newbie help:) Post by Support Staff on Dec 12th, 2002, 10:47am As you guessed, if you use tab #4 files are embedded in the program. With tab #3 files are external. Go to "Hypertext >Images - files - link archive and erase" and delete the files you embedded with tab #4 (they are stored internally for faster reuse). This will reduce the file size. A nice idea would be to buy the PRO edition, also... :) |

Title: Re: Newbie help:) Post by ezthinkr on Jan 22nd, 2008, 12:24pm If size is of any concern, then use external links rather than embedding the files. Here is an example: Our product CD has 56-pages with about 600 links. After changing to external links and deleting the embedded files (all PDF and CAD drawings), we reduced the aeh file size from 290MB to 17MB. Now, only the intro video (16MB) is embedded for the quickest load. We noticed no difference in load times after doing this, and everything fits easily on 1-CD. |
