Title: link .wav to image map?
Post by hoddo on Jun 13th, 2003, 9:58pm
can i link a .wav file to a clickable hot spot on an image, so the native player will play it  without any dialoge boxs or external programs  comming up??

Not sure if this is the best way of doing this, but it will work. You can make a mirror copy of the page that has your image on it. You can then associate your sound with this mirror copy, so that it plays automatically whenever this page is displayed (sound controls are specified as hidden). You then need to link your image or hotspot to this page. Then when your reader clicks on this image or hotspot it will appear that nothing has changed on the screen, but the sound will be playing. They can then be forced to click on the same image or hotspot on the mirror page which will return them back to the original page, therefore switching the sound off.
