Can this program mine for OS information?
I would like to create an autorun feature that will look to see if the OS is non-unicode or unicode then open an appropriate file.

No, but you can link to any .exe file (e.g. you can create an external program that does this, then you may run the program with a link within CDFrontEnd, the link will call the program that may call the appropriate file, after testing for the OS...... )
If you are not a programmer you should ask a friend or hire someone in order to write this simple program........

;)
