How can I get the vertical alignment in a table or in a cell? Thanks

Was this post answered? I ask because I have the same question.

I have been approximating it by playing with styles and point sizes, but it would be nice if I could just center align vertical single word text that sits to the right of cells containing product images.  

This isn't really a showstopper because of the workarounds available, but please reply.
