With CDFE Gold, is there a way that I can have music play for the full time that the CD is in a viewer's PC?

We have a 1-minute introduction video that starts automatically, then slides to a menu page when it completes.

I could add an audio track to the video before compression of the file, but it would only play while the video was playing.

I'm trying to think of a way for the music to play for the full time the CD is in use. Any ideas?

there is a trick for this.

You split the video in two frames (may be a very small top frame) with the same background color/image and no frame border (you can do this with the advanced frameset manager), so the end user won't see the frame

then you must use only "Special links" (so the frameset won't move and the top frame will never be replaced)

then you place in the top frame a "background sound" with Insert >Sound /Animation (then you select "loop" and an audio file with the music you like)

I got this to work but only until the video page slid to the menu page - then the music stopped.

The menu page does not have the same frameset layout. If that is why the music stopped, then would it help to carry that frameset layout to all pages (about 60) in the project?

Would this raise a problem with the looping where it would restart from the beginning at each change of pages?

the key is that the frame that contains the music remains fixed. It may be a very small frame.

you can do this by using ONLY "special links". With special links you can replace a frame with a frame-set so you can do everything with special links. Of course this means doing some re-design if this has to be added to something that is already existing. You may want to open a new file (they you copy and paste from the old).

some examples? within the tutorial "how to create a left frame menu" there are 2 ways to create this menu: for the music trick you need the way that uses special links; the other one will make the music restart when you change page.
