Title: MACHINE TRANSLATION Post by batistajm on Apr 15th, 2004, 6:17pm I know this will hurt but I have to say it anyway: please DO NOT use machine translation! I am portuguese and I honestly cannot understand 95% of the sentences the machine supposedly translates into portuguese - keep it in "international english" ( a language that our british and american friends have some difficulty understanding but nevertheless is the closest thing to an universal language ). By the way how do you call a person that is able to speak two languages? - Bilingue (int'l english) What do you call someone who is able to speak multiple languages? - Multilingual (int'l english) What do you call someone who is able to speak only one language? - A gringo ( universal english) What do you call something that is not able to speak a single language? - A f***g machine ( universal lingo) ;D ;D ;D |

Title: Re: MACHINE TRANSLATION Post by Support Staff on Apr 19th, 2004, 8:49am We know that the machine translation is really bad.... often it is also funny :-) To say one in Italian the word "download" is translated with something like "link to the satellite". By the way we are working to a portuguese EasyWebEditor.... we had to pause this project but it is likely we'll restart it soon... stay tuned! |
