Title: .BAK file BAK
Post by marcus on Oct 10th, 2005, 3:42am
I have a real problem and was wondering if you could help me. I latest web site I was working on somehow got saved on my PC as a ".BAK" file instead of a ".AEH" file. Is there anyway I can convert the BAK file into an AEH file? It's very important as I made a lot of changes in my last revision but now it seems that I may have lost them? Is there anyway I can salvage the data from a .BAK file?

The BAK file is the automatic backup (last saved version -1).
The program saves a BAK file each time you save (actually it is just the file previously saved).
If you have only the BAK, this means you incidentally deleted the normal file.
Just rename the something.BAK to somethingelse.AEH with the MSWindows File Explorer (slow double click to rename) and then you will be able to open the file with the program "File >Open" menu.

You can disable the BAK file if you want (but this is not suggested), use "Tools" then "Program options".
