Title: Problem displaying images in Firefox
Post by Tycho on Nov 8th, 2005, 3:57pm
I have written an extension to our school web site: www.kestevengrantham.lincs.sch.uk.  It can be found by clicking on the Science Day link in the side menu.  The trouble is that the images on, for example, the Year 7 page show OK when using IE but not when using Firefox.  Any comments?

I see the page Year7 is:

http://www.kestevengrantham.lincs.sch.uk/Science%20day%202005/science_day_00000c.htm

I think the problem is that you used spaces within the folder name, just rename the folder

Science_day_2005

or so.

Spaces within file names or folder names do cause problems also on Netscape and several other browsers.
I know the software automatically remove spaces within file names, but the folder name is up to you! :)

I see the image format is WMF.
I think only IE shows WMF images....

I think you should convert the image to GIF or JPEG (if importing with the cliboard, click "bitmap" then choose  GIF or JPEG)

Check whether you have used forward slashes or backslashes in the url

This will work in both browsers:

img src="images/Site_Heading_Logo.jpg"

This only works in ie

img src="images\Site_Heading_Logo.jpg"

This can not be a problem as EasyWebEditor / 1Site does automatically manage image names.... :-)
