Title: Load XML in to Table
Post by Rob Newton on Jun 19th, 2006, 1:28pm
Clarification: 1. Does 1Site provide the ability to utilize a XML stream?

2. My objective is to create a site and offer free Quotes. The techies at the quote engines that is widley utilized in my industry tell me that interfacining is a piece of cake?  As a non technofite  ???

3. Is 1site a good choice for my requirement?

Hi!

This is a very generic question that is difficult to answer without more details.

I think that a (generic) XML stream has to be rendered by a script on the server.

As long a proper script is installed, a common way to show the script output within a 1SITE page is to use the Insert >HTML then maybe insert a short SSI (server side include) code, such as:

<!--#include virtual="/cgi-bin/thenicescript"-->

of course you can do this and this is easy, as long as this will work like I supposed.

Only who supplies the stream and possibly the script may help you more.
This is not basic stuff IMHO and would imply the same complication whatever the web software you use.

Basically 1SITE makes it easy to create the rest of the website. To understand what's the proper code to be inserted (may differ from what I wrote above) and possibly how to install the script / the stuff that reads the XML stream, this requires help/support/info from the XML supplier.
