If I view my site over the internet and I manually resize the window, the words in my menus will move about with the change, in other words they will not stay on the same line but rather create a second line in order to fit.
How do you make your page so that it stays the same, even when resizing it. like other websites I view. I am using frameset layout, tables, etc..
?? I hope I make sense trying to explain what I am wondering.. help would be appreciated.

this is the correct behavior for a paragraph on a web site. Try resizing this forum, or www.visualvision.com : you will see that you will be able to see the forum or the VV website on almost any monitor, as the paragraphs will resize.

Of course this may be a problem if you use the "carriage return" key at the end of the line rather than at the end of the paragraph.

Of course there are some tricks you can use in order to better design your layout in order to fit the window no matter what's the window size.

Bad trick: use a fixed width (a fixed table) - this is the trick of most web sites. They are not sufficiently intelligent to design a resizeable web site, they fix the screen width, so if you are browsing with a small window (or on a small laptop, or with a low resolution monitor) you see the horrible horizontal scroll bar, and in order to read a web site you have to continuously scroll to right then to left....

Good tricks: use tables with a mix of fixed columns and resizeable (percent) columns. There are a lot of examples and further explains within the Chapter "Graphics and paging pages" of the PDF manual.

With frames or without it's your choice.

Usually, if you use frames, it is better to use at most 2-3 frames, and also, it is ok to (e.g.) fix the width of the left frame so the frame will be wide enough in order to show the graphic buttons (if any).

Usually you always find a way to improve your web site... there is people that periodically (e.g. each 6 months) do a whole website redesign...... it's up to you! :)
