Title: Re: ie 7.0 & frames Post by Support Staff on Nov 25th, 2006, 2:44pm Hi! IE7 has a very serious bug with the BASE tag and frames. If the BASE tag is in the BODY section (this is perfecly legal since HTML2.0 rules), IE7 ignores it, thus causing the bad frame behavior. Please report this bug to Microsoft: they need a lot of people stressing them. Or use any other browser. All the other browser do correctly manage the code by following correctly the standards, and imho IE7 has noting really new (apart maybe new holes for viruses!) |

Title: Re: ie 7.0 & frames Post by Support Staff on Nov 25th, 2006, 2:47pm of course there is a manual workaround, you can correct the IE7 error by using Insert >HTML >At page start and by writing <base target="_top"> but is really sad to have to modify pages/codes just to correct microsoft mistakes :( |

Title: Re: ie 7.0 & frames Post by Carmen Zirbel on Dec 6th, 2006, 1:35pm The work around that is posted-- is this inserting code? Would I need to do this for every link that is no longer working? I've sent a message to Microsoft to hound them because this is a major bummer. :-/ Thanks |

Title: Re: ie 7.0 & frames Post by joval on Dec 9th, 2006, 8:23am Okay I tried the code again this time not just to the page but to each frame within the page. It works! before I go and change this on each and every page, I just wanted to ask someone, will this code change the way other browsers will read/view my site? (because the site seemed to be fine until I viewed it with ie7) I don't want to correct the problem for ie7 browsers and then have trouble with other browsers viewing? if this makes any sense !! Thanks. Joval |

Title: Re: ie 7.0 & frames Post by Bello on Dec 9th, 2006, 1:08pm It's fine for the other browsers as it is a redundant code - it is already present within the pages, but IE 7 is quite fool and doesn't see it unless you duplicate it as above... |
