Title: adding flash video Post by valjo on Feb 10th, 2008, 12:17pm Hi, I recently purchased a program to convert WMV to Flash FLV. format, once the wmv format is converted to flv format, I have a few files showing but I am not sure how do I add these files to the Visual Vision 1site builder.? So that I can include it on my website when I upload my website with the built in FTP? Any help from those who have experience with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank You. Enjoy the day! |

Title: Re: adding flash video Post by Support Staff on Feb 10th, 2008, 12:20pm Hi! Don't know. What does the Flash documentation say? It should at least supply a code to be put on the Web site; this code should contain a reference to the needed files... ::) |

Title: Re: adding flash video Post by valjo on Feb 10th, 2008, 12:42pm This is the Info. that I could find. But I wonder if I have to do this without using the VV 1site program to upload it to the website hosting?? Thanks for your reply! I hope you can offer some suggestions. Enjoy your Sunday! bye for now. If you would like to include the video in a web page you've already created, open the index.htm HTML file VideoWebWizard created in Notepad. Then copy the text in between <body> and </body> and paste it into your other web page file (at whatever spot in the page you want it to appear). Then copy the <script>…. </script> line in the VideoWebWizard-generated HTML file and paste it into your other web page after the <head> tag. Also, make sure you upload the three other files to your web server as well (the [PlayerName].swf file, the FLVVideo file, and the swfobject file). |

Title: Re: adding flash video Post by Support Staff on Feb 10th, 2008, 2:51pm It is like we explain in the manual for applets. The part that you should put in the HEAD must be inserted with Insert >HTML >At page start The part in the BODY means somewhere in the page text with Insert >HTML >Within text As for the 3 files, there are 2 options: 1) you don't touch the codes they provide: in this case you have to manually upload these 3 files on your web site 2) you touch the codes this way (in the box shown by the Insert >HTML ): when there is "nicename.swf" (of course I don't know the precise name) between "", then you delete nicename.swf, then you put the cursor between the two "" an you press the Insert File button and then you search nicename.swf on your hard disk. The program will put an icon in place of the file. If you do this for the 3 files then the program uploads automatically these files on the website By the way, either 1 or 2, you will see the results of these chunk of code only when you publish on the website. Within EWE / 1Site you will see small icons. |

Title: Re: adding flash video Post by valjo on Feb 10th, 2008, 3:38pm Thank You so much for your help. That makes complete sense. by the way, what about WMV formats though, would it be incorrect to add these type of video files to a website? |

Title: Re: adding flash video Post by Support Staff on Feb 10th, 2008, 6:19pm With Insert >Sound / Animation you can insert WMV video as well as other formats, visually. As long as the WMV internally does not use a too much special subformat (you may know that WMV is not a "single" standard / format but includes many subformats), I believe there will be no main differences as I don't think that (on average) the flash FLV takes less bytes. |

Title: Re: adding flash video Post by Alejandra on Mar 21st, 2009, 11:38pm I inserted .wmv video on the web, but when I see the web, I see it with few color (green, red, blue). I just can load only as a flash file, but I want to insert .wvm or avi, but all of them you see like a poor video quality. Thanks for your help. |

Title: Re: adding flash video Post by Support Staff on Mar 22nd, 2009, 7:25am EWE doesn't touch the video, so it depends by the browser. By the way usually the browser uses the normal MSWindows video features. |

Title: Re: adding flash video Post by Alejandra on Mar 22nd, 2009, 9:56pm Maybe I did't explain me as well as I should. Could you see the following link. The first one show the video as a flash file (swf) and I can see fine. www.semperfides.org/videoronjunto1.html The second one is a wmv file and I can't see fine www.semperfides.org/videoronjunto.html I prefer the wmv file because people who see the video can use control commands (play, stop, etc) and with flash file doesn't appear these controls. I really appreciate if you could help me on this matter. Thanks again, Alejandra. |

Title: Re: adding flash video Post by Support Staff on Mar 23rd, 2009, 5:20am the only thing that I can suggest is to try to encode the video with a different codec (I don't know about WMV, but for AVI you can use - say - the DIVX codec that is very powerful - I've ). sorry but's not something about 1site/easywebeditor or that can be changed or improved with our web editor. A video is a video. Maybe some other visitor of the forum can help you. By the way on my computer the wmv video looks as fine as the flash (quite identical, imho) |

Title: Re: adding flash video Post by Alejandra on Mar 27th, 2009, 1:38am It seems the problem was the ActiveX configuration. EWE just load the file and it depends on each IE configuration how we can see videos on the web. Thanks again for your help. |
