Title: tables 100% problem space between images Post by Jo-Ann on Mar 26th, 2011, 8:57am for a webpage with images: I've inserted table/columns/rows. then I have placed images within each square in that table. When I view browser preview, everything is fine until I expand my window to the largest screen size, then there is way too much space between each image. If I adjust the column size still the same, If I adjust the that particular table less than 100% then there is too much space within the entire screen after that table.. does this make any sense to anyone?? I've read the chapter on paging etc.. did not help..I've searched this forum still can't seem to find anything .. assistance is appreciated thank you. |

Title: webpages using tables Post by valjo on Jan 25th, 2008, 9:44am Hi, before I continue working on building my website, I hesitate, and wonder if this is right. I have not used format layouts, to create my pages, I only have used tables, and work with those tables, columns and rows, to create my pages, is that okay to do? Also, I am wondering how do I control the size of the table, the width, and the legnth, so that when I go from link to link(page to page) the tables are exactly the same. I have tested out what I have done in a browser preview, but each page (built with tables) show a different width and a different legnth, is there a way to set it so that it is all the same.? sorry, I have searched for this type of topic but could not find anything about it. Your advise and expertise would be greatly appreciated. Thank You. |

Title: Re: webpages using tables Post by Support Staff on Jan 25th, 2008, 10:36am Hi! The purpose of using transparent tables is to auto-adapt the website to the end user screen size or browser window size. You find more info about this within the Chapter "Graphics and paging pages" of the PDF manual. You may also set fixed width table (Table >Properties) but this is not recommended at all - for the reasons and the golden rules, see the chapter cited above :) |

Title: just curious re: tables Post by joval on Dec 5th, 2006, 9:18am When I start a blank page with frameset, and I start the page with insert table ( so I can start to write text) Do I have to insert a table within a table for text. or just the one table that I started with.? My site is done, it seems good when I view it live, I was just curious whether others might see the words scrambled if I dont insert a table for each text line.(sentence). |

Title: Re: just curious tables Post by Support Staff on Dec 5th, 2006, 10:32am No, you don't have to insert a table for each paragraph. The only important thing is to use the Carriage Return only at the paragraph end. You may test your pages for any screen resolution by simply enlarging the browser dialog (just don't browse at full screen but instead use a browser dialog that you can resize by dragging borders). For more suggestion about paging pages please see the proper Chapter of the PDF manual! |

Title: PERFECTION with TABLES Post by OTTODAD on Feb 18th, 2002, 6:32pm Yes, Tables are the answer ! Using Rows-only Tables creates a grid of horizontal screen sections which can contain other Tables inside them, Images, Text, etc. Scrapped my work to date and re-designed the lot using Tables only. See the result at: www.ottowipfel.btinternet.co.uk www.bristolaero.btinternet.co.uk ;D Another tip to make checking of Web Pages easier before wasting a lot of time "Publishing" / Uploading on the World Wide Wait is to test your work by copying all *.HTM, *.CSS and EWE-Images files to the Root of C: and run INDEX.HTM there. Anything not quite right, re-edit and try again :) Using this Forum is a lot of Fun too :D That's why I have decided to have a go at using YABB Forums like this one in my Web Sites designs as well ! Contact me if you like on: ottowipfel@btinternet.com and spread the word about how good EWE is !!! PS. Where can I get a copy of the lovely background this Forum is using ? |
