Can external links be made to open in a new window

Can I generate a link, in EWE, to open a remote URL in a new window please? I have discovered that appending the URL address with target="_blank" within the a tag should do this but I cannot find a way to insert this code; when I modify the External URL address in the list the address is no longer recognized.

Hi! Use Insert >Special link then select "open in new browser". You don't really need to use or care about hmtl code when the program provides these features visually and automatically
