Links in Project

I am trying to setup up links on the left side of my page to go to specific pages in the project and can't seem to move the links around on the page without messing everything else up.  If I try to put the links in a table on the same line as something else it won't let me center one of them without centering both.  If I use the space bar it drops the writing on the page to the next line.  Is there a way to use something like a text box that can be freely moved around the page?  Please help!!!

place the links on 2 separate lines!
if you center one line, all the line is centered!

use 2 columns if you want the links side by side.

You can not place a text box in a fixed position as this "fixed" is not good - people uses different monitors, different browser dialog windows etc.

Anything "fixed" is likely to be good on your own PC only and this is not ok for professional websites (when not just you will see your website ).
